FARE was started in 2008 with the aim of endorsing and promoting culture. It principally focuses on the art sector but also extends to include wider contemporary culture. A defining characteristic of FARE and its work is an emphasis on ‘listening’ to the system and the people within it: what is missing, what needs to be done, what would people like to do, etc. Through consultancy, FARE interacts with public and private bodies with a view to networking and sharing interests, projects and strategies. This results in projects and collaborations with associations, training bodies, cultural organisations and more complex or ‘public’ projects such as the articulation and management of national and international networks in sectors such as education and mobility for artists, curators and cultural workers.
Since 2014, FARE has also been acted as an agency that operates in all areas of the cultural system and offers the public sector and private corporate world a broad range of services, which include local promotional projects, coordination of exhibitions and events, marketing and cultural communication plans and assistance with participation in national and international tenders.
FARE team has a multitude of skills and knowledge used to develop plans and proposals that fully respond to the client’s needs. Constant interaction with professionals and experts guarantees a high level of professionalism and success at achieving goals.
FARE is based in Via Piranesi, within the Frigoriferi Milanesi complex, in the old Milanese ice factory restored by the Architecture Agency 5+1AA: a place for encounter and exchange dedicated to art and culture. FARE manages an artistic residence, in which artists live and work, and a space for cultural activities including exhibitions, meetings, seminars, talks.
FARE is part of the international Transartist networks; it collaborates with the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, European Community, public and private institutions, Universities, Academies of Art, banks and private companies. It has created www.artinresidence.it, the unique international network of residencies for artists, and it works regularly with cultural institutions coming from the MENA area.
FARE is a board member of the World Trade Center Italy s.r.l., member of the New York World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), a global organisation that promotes international commerce.
